Red City Radio discography, with catalog numbers and pressings

Red City Radio’s 2015 self-titled album carries WH65 on the inspected US vinyl entry and WH64 on the CD. European vinyl editions use Gunner’s GnR 109. Those numbers identify different physical issues of the same record, a distinction a list of album titles can miss.

Credits across the early records

Production credits connect the releases. Titles was recorded at Red Audio Werks in Oklahoma City with Kendall Stephens producing and Stephen Egerton of the Descendents mixing. The inspected yellow vinyl entry records 500 copies and credits Paul Pendley, who sang lead alongside Garrett Dale.

The earlier To the Sons and Daughters of Woody Guthrie has five songs, recorded in one month at Armstrong Studios in Tulsa in January 2009, produced and mixed by Egerton and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room. The 2015 self-titled record credits Ryan Donovan in Pendley’s place; Paradise credits Derik Envy on bass and Mike Kennerty producing.

The early splits are worth a note because they document recordings outside the album sequence. Midwestern Hymnals is shared with Streets of Thieves and was tracked at The Watershed Studio in Enid, Oklahoma over the summer of 2006. The 2010 split with The Great St. Louis ran to 300 hand numbered copies, and the sleeve tells you how it was bought: the first 60 went to series subscribers in a yellow jacket and the other 240 shipped in blue.

The 2015 album carries two Staple Records numbers

Staple Records announced this record on 2 March 2015, calling it the band’s “third full-length album and first for Staple Records”. The inspected US vinyl and CD entries record different dates and catalog numbers: the LP is WH65, dated 21 April, and the CD is WH64, dated 24 April, in a gatefold with an eight panel lyric insert. Both numbers sit in the Workhorse Music Group catalog series that runs across this label’s releases.

The label’s own posts do not agree with each other on the date either. It announced 21 April in March, repeated 21 April on 15 April, then put up a post dated 22 April saying the album was out that day.

Three vinyl runs, three sizes

An August 2026 post on the band’s subreddit reads “Been looking to purchase a copy of self titled (2015) on vinyl for a while.” The catalog gives edition-specific quantities to compare. The US run was 750 copies on orange with black smoke. The German and UK editions came out through Gunner Records under GnR 109, with licensing from the US label recorded in their entries, and both are smaller.

The UK clear red pressing is 400 copies and came with a square screen print, though the entry notes that “The print is limited to 50 pieces only”, so at most 50 of those 400 copies carried one. The German hand numbered edition is 100 copies in a screen printed sleeve. The inspected database snapshot contains eleven editions across four labels.

What is not settled here

This selection ends with the Live at Gothic Theatre LP in May 2022, a 200 copy webstore pressing recorded in Denver. Readers on the band’s subreddit have asked more than once since 2022 whether the band split. No statement from the band or a label turned up in this research, so nothing here says they did. The encyclopedia entry does not list that 2022 record at all, which is worth knowing if you are using it as your checklist.
